Meet our 2026 Coaching Team: Angie

March 2, 2026

The Spruce Grove Barracudas Swim Club is excited to welcome Coach Angie as our Senior Assistant Coach for the 2026 season!

Coach Angie brings passion, energy, and a true love of swimming to the pool deck. A self-described swimming “geek,” Angie has been coaching for nearly two years and previously swam with the Fort McMurray Mantas Swim Club — an experience she still reflects on as formative in teaching discipline, teamwork, and lifelong skills.

Outside of the pool, Angie is a proud mom to three grown sons and has been married to her high school sweetheart for 32 years.

Coaching Style & Philosophy
Coach Angie describes her coaching style as disciplined but fun. She is focused on helping each swimmer reach their full potential while also ensuring practices are enjoyable, memorable, and supportive. Angie believes swimming is not only a sport, but a lifelong skill that builds confidence both in and out of the water.
Favorite stroke: Breaststroke
Honourable mention: Butterfly — when done properly, she says it’s the most beautiful stroke to watch
Fun fact: Angie ran a home-based business as a certified gel nail technician for 20 years and is now semi-retired, doing nails just for family and friends
Coach Angie is looking forward to an amazing summer getting to know our swimmers and families — and swimming like rockstars, because we all are!
Please join us in welcoming Coach Angie to the Spruce Grove Barracudas family, we’re excited for a great 2026 season!
